The intent of this online course (in book format) is to introduce computer programming to a complete beginner. As you read the book, keep in mind that you cannot learn to program by reading a book. It is the best way to learn.

Free ASP.NET Training Course

Microsoft is offering a free 17 hour hands-on ASP.NET training course. This course is normally $349 but for a limited time they are offering it for free. The course is titled "Developing MicrosoftÂ® ASP.NET Web Applications Using Visual StudioÂ® .NET".

I have personally downloaded this training and it is good for the beginner to intermediate level, but expers will find it too basic and not very helpful. The topics range from an introduction to Visual Studio, Connecting to databases, Debugging and Tracing, and other topics.

I don't know how much longer Microsoft will offer this training. You can access it at: [URL]msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/learn/default.aspx[/URL]. The free offer is in the upper right hand corner.

Free ASP.NET 2.0 Training CD

AppDev has produced a 3 hour ASP.NET 2.0 CD-ROM Training. They offer this CD traning for both C# and VB.NET developers. I have ordered my CD but haven't received it yet so I don't know how good the content is or what is contained on the CD. But it's a free CD so who can complain?

If you live outside the United States it appears that there is a small shipping and handling charge, but it is free shipping for those in the United States.
