    Lesson 1: Use new Active Directory features

    In this lesson, you'll learn about the new features and improvements in the Windows Server 2003 Active Directory. You'll get an overview of the major changes, including deployment and management features, security enhancements, and performance improvements. You'll also walk through the steps of using two of the most useful Active Directory features: the new Domain Rename feature and the RSoP (Resultant Set of Policy) tool.

    Lesson 2: Use software restriction policies
    In this lesson, you'll go "under the hood" of software restriction policies. Windows Server 2003's new software restriction policies allow administrators to control which programs can or cannot be run on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP computers. You'll find out how to set a default security level and how to make exceptions to the default level by creating rules, and you'll learn the steps of creating certificate, hash, Internet zone, and path rules.

    Lesson 3: Use VSS and shadow copies
    In this lesson, you'll learn about VSS (Volume Shadow Copy service), which makes it easy for users to restore or view a previous version of a network file without the having to restore backups from tapes or other archives. In this lesson, you'll find out the concepts behind VSS and then learn the steps to set up the Shadow Copies for Shared Folders, enabling VSS, and restoring previous versions of files.

    Lesson 4: Manage Server 2003 Terminal Services and Remote Desktop
    Windows Terminal Services have been around since Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition, but Windows Server 2003's Terminal Services work a little differently from previous versions. This lesson will explore the changes that have been made to Terminal Services in Windows Server 2003, including the removal of remote administration mode and the addition of the Remote Desktop feature.

    Lesson 5: Use new network features
    In this lesson, you'll explore some of the new networking features built into Windows Server 2003. You'll learn step-by-step instructions in setting up the network bridging feature to connect two separate LAN (local area network) segments. You'll also examine the new ICF (Internet Connection Firewall) and how to configure it for basic firewall protection.

    Lesson 6: Use new data protection features
    In this lesson, you'll learn some of the new features in Windows Server 2003 designed to protect your data and system files. You'll find out about improvements that have been made to EFS (Encrypting File System) and how to use the ASR (Automated System Recovery) tool, which can be used as a last resort option in the event of a system failure.
