E-Business ECOstructure:
EMC, Oracle, and Cisco are delivering joint e-business solutions in the form of free infrastructure Blueprints, which provide easy-to-use, integrated guidelines that document the design, implementation, operation and support of the EMC/Cisco/Oracle high availability Internet platform. There are now two Blueprints available:
Resilient Blueprint:
http://www.eecostructure.com/blueprint_res/start.htm
http://www.eecostructure.com/blueprint_res/toclist.htm
The design of the Resilient Blueprint solution focuses on providing an e-business with a highly available data center platform for the Internet. Based on the concept of a single data center site that is reliable and available with high performance, the design includes redundancy of hardware and software. In addition, this solution provides nondisruptive backup of the database using business continuance volumes
(BCVs), and server-based I/O channel load balancing and failover.
Recovery Blueprint:
http://www.eecostructure.com/blueprint_rec/start.htm
http://www.eecostructure.com/blueprint_rec/toclist.htm
The second Blueprint, Recovery, extends the core high availability foundation of Resilient to include multi-site disaster recovery. This blueprint documents infrastructure design and technology enhancements that minimize downtime and potential data loss by: 1) Improving Availability (reduce unplanned downtime) through fast failover and failback of E-Business IP traffic and database information to a protected, standby data center, and 2) Building for Disaster Protection (minimize potential data loss) through integrated solutions that deliver "no data loss" of archive, redo logs, and data files as well as efficient failback to the primary data center.

9) Frequently Asked Questions about Technical Training:
Each month Scott Turton will answer one of the frequently asked questions we receive about computer and technical training and career development. They will be archived on a separate FAQ page on our website after several months.
March 2001 FAQ:
What is the best way to find a job for new or recent college grads who have little to no experience outside of the academic realm?
Answer:
If you have had any experience working in your academic environment (such as a graduate assistant) then you need to highlight that on your resume, over your education. You need to describe any and all job experiences that you have had in your life. As a matter of fact, even volunteer experience would be helpful to describe on your resume. You need to show your future employer that you are not a risk to hire as an employee and that you will be a productive, engaged worker bringing knowledge and some experience to the job. You may want to attempt to target certain types of positions that you could work at for a period of time until you are ready to move into your chosen technical career. These could be jobs such as technical writer, tester, proofreader, helpdesk, operator, or business analyst.
You should also to look at the jobs sites that cater to recent college grads. The best ones are listed under this site's Jobs for Grads section:
http://www.intelligentedu.com/job_resources.html#grads. Some of these sites list IT Internships, which is a great way to get into the IT field. Here are more of the best IT internship job sites:
