LPI Certification Self-Study Guide:
http://www.happy-monkey.net/LPI/
http://www.happy-monkey.net/LPI/html/
http://www.happy-monkey.net/LPI/LPI-Self-Study-Guide.pdfThe goal of this 'LPI Certification Self-Study Guide' is to leverage existing Linux documentation and combine it with sample questions written by LPI certified persons. (LPI is the Linux Professional Institute.) This self-study guide is broken into chapters based on the objectives for LPI exams 101 and 102. Each chapter begins with a brief overview of the objective followed by a more detailed explanation and several practice questions. This is a work in progress. If you are an expert in one of the objective areas and would like to be part of the LPI Study Guide effort please contact the author to adopt a chapter.
The LPIC-2 Exam Prep Book:
http://snow.nl/dist/xhtmlc/index.htmlThis book is intended to help people prepare for the Linux Professional Institute Certification 2 exam, or the LPIC-2 exam. You will need to have at least 2 years of practical experience with Unix, preferably Linux. Though you may take the LPIC-2 exam without it, you should be an LPIC-1 alumnus to be allowed to the titles and rights that come with the LPIC-2 certification. The authors aimed to create a set of training and tutorial documents that will assist you in passing the LPIC-2 exam. This book contains all the information (and more) needed to pass the exam.
Free Linux and Unix Books and How to Find Them:
Here are some good free books for Linux and Unix that I discovered by doing the following search on search.msn.com (without the single quotes and with the double quotes): ' "ls -l" chapter -sale -sell -price -cost -buy -purchase -shop -shopping -cart -review '. Here is the tinyurl for this search: http://tinyurl.com/dfe67 . You will find different results by changing what is in the double quotes, just make it something technical that will be in the content you are looking for. This will work for all areas, including application programming in Java, C++, C#, web development, Windows and Linux administration, networking, security, etc. On the specific search above, you will actually find more free books than those listed here.
